Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Shane (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit tryshane.ai, join the waitlist or sign in, and how we use it. Shane is not yet generally available; this policy covers this website and the waitlist.
What we collect
- Waitlist and account details. Your email address when you join the waitlist, and your name, email and sign-in method if we invite you and you create an account.
- Usage analytics. Pages you view, links and buttons you click, how far you scroll, form submissions (field names only, never what you type), your browser, screen size, language, time zone and approximate country, and how you reached us (referrer and campaign tags such as UTM parameters or ad click IDs).
- A pseudonymous identifier. A random ID stored in your browser’s local storage so we can tell visits apart. When you give us your email, it is linked to this ID as a one-way hash, not the address itself.
We do not collect your IP address for analytics, and our analytics do not set cookies.
Why we use it
- To run the waitlist, invite you, and let you sign in.
- To understand which pages and campaigns bring people to Shane, so we can improve the site and our marketing.
- To keep the site secure, including blocking bots and abuse.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your request (to join the waitlist or use your account) and on our legitimate interest in understanding and securing our website.
Who processes it for us
- Clerk: waitlist, sign-in and account management.
- Opinly: website analytics and our blog.
- Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery and security.
We don’t sell your personal information or share it for others’ advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist and account details until you ask us to delete them or we close the waitlist. Analytics data is kept only as long as it’s useful for the purposes above.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@tryshane.ai. You can clear the analytics identifier at any time by clearing your browser’s site data. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
We’ll update this page if this policy changes, and change the date at the top.
